Marc Rotterman is a partner in Rotterman & Associates, a Raleigh based public relations and government consulting firm. Marc Rotterman’s involvement in public policy and politics is extensive.

 

In 1970 at the age of 21, Marc Rotterman was director of field operations for Bob Taft’s successful United States Senate bid in Ohio. In 1980 Marc Rotterman worked on the national campaign for Reagan for President. Rotterman served as an Assistant to then Governor Reagan’s Domestic Policy Advisor.

 

After the Presidential campaign of 1980, Rotterman was asked to join the Reagan Administration as Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Transportation. In that capacity, Rotterman’s responsibilities included dealing with the national press as well as Members of Congress and administration officials in the White House.

 

In 1984 Rotterman left the Reagan administration to manage Alex McMillian’s successful congressional campaign in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1985 Rotterman started his own public and government relations firm.

 

Over the years, Rotterman & Associates has represented numerous corporate clients, and they have done a variety of client work including book promotions. 1n 1990, Rotterman was asked to help to start the John Locke Foundation, a non-profit public policy think-tank based in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as President until 1996. He remains a Senior Fellow with the John Locke Foundation His columns also appear in the Carolina Journal, their statewide publication.

 

In 1994 Rotterman & Associates were the media and general consultant to Walter Jones successful Congressional campaign. In 1996 Marc Rotterman served as an advisor to Senator Phil Gramm’s presidential campaign. In the election cycle of 2000, Rotterman & Associates helped to raise over $500,000 by organizing several events for then Governor George W. Bush’s presidential efforts in North Carolina.

 

In the 2004 election cycle Marc Rotterman served as a senior advisor to the Richard Burr for US Senate Campaign. His firm also produced some radio and TV ads for the campaign and purchased media in Eastern North Carolina for his race. His firm Rotterman & Associates was also hired as strategists and media consultants for the NC State Senatorial Trust on 2004.

 

In the 2006 cycle Mr. Rotterman’s partner and wife Karen and was the consultant for Congressman Walter Jones’ successful reelection and media consultant to NC State Senator Fred Smith.

 

Respected as a political strategist and creator of many well-known campaign ads, Marc Rotterman is a frequent guest commentator on both national and state radio and television programs. He has appeared on FOX News Live, Hardball with Chris Matthews, Fox & Friends, Fox’s Beyond the News, CNN - Inside Politics, MSNBC’s Scarborough Country, ABC News - Nightline, as well as numerous talk radio and TV shows across the state of North Carolina.

 

Marc Rotterman is often also a guest columnist in the Raleigh News & Observer. Additionally, his columns have been featured in the Washington Times, Human Events, the Detroit Free Press and the Orange County Register, as well as many other papers across the state and country.

 

Marc Rotterman is a partner in business with his wife of twenty one years Karen Hayes Rotterman. They reside in Raleigh, North Carolina.
