The $45-Million School Bond
Gregorius: 'We have to bite the bullet'
My Friends,
I just want to give you a another view of what I feel should be a main reason for the school bond. As a kid growing up in Queens, I watched the World Trade Center get higher and higher as it was built and had a lot of pride in having the worlds biggest building in my backyard.
I left NYC years ago and never looked back or missed it to 9/11. That day I knew this is just one of the first battles in the war on terrorism. I realized that these foreign countries involved in these terror attacks have been indoctrinating these terrorists since they were kids.
Our kids are really going to be fighting the war on terror in a whole different ring due to advancements in technology and communications. If we do not provide Franklin County's children with the most advanced and inspiring learning tools and instead decide to keep our schools below our pace of growth, we will not produce Americans who will be fully prepared to fight this war on terror or to lead the world in democracy.
Nobody wants to pay more taxes, but I know nobody wants to give up the American way of life also. We have to bite the bullet and make this small sacrifice, so our future generations will prevail.
