School Bond
Opposes Bond
Dear Fellow Conservative Republicans,
In regards to the new school bond issue I just have a few unanswered questions I would like all of you to think about.
1) The county has not utilized all the money they have collected from the previous school bond that got voted in just 2 short years ago....Where's that money?
2) With the new Educational Lottery in effect.........where are we going to use that money?
3) Why is the Committee of 100 laying claim to this new school bond? (the mailer they put out says it was paid for by the Committee of 100 School Bond)
Something is fishy here in Franklin County I suggest you vote NO to this new school bond until we can see exactly where these funds will be spent.
Sincerely,
AnnMarie

Supports Bond
After reading
some commentaries and letters about the school bond, I'd figure I'd chime in
too.
I too was on the first school bond committee, and the info I received from
our first committee said that we would be needing a second bond in the near
future. So that's no shock to me.
I am very pleased with our school boards progress and our Superintendent's
work since last election, otherwise I would be running again. They are also
very easy to contact.
As a matter a fact I must applaud the increase in discipline and changes in
some of our schools administration.
I, for one like so many of my fellow Republicans do not want to pay more
taxes. Voting no for the school bond is like cutting your nose off to save
your face. We can cut corners on a lot of things other then education. I
personally think we spend too much on parks and rec when we can't even keep
our library's open every day. (or our convenience centers) Here are some
points to think about before you vote on the School Bond
Franklin County's teachers and children have a hard enough time in
overcrowded classrooms, with a larger percentage of students coming everyday
who don't even speak English.
This generation of students are going to be going out in a world, where
other countries put education before anything non military are raising their
children to hate Americans. With computer access to anything in the world
possible, we have to keep our kids one step ahead to ensure the American and
Franklin County way of life.
To increase our tax base we need more business in Franklin County. If we are
going to have companies locate here, we have to have schools that the
executives from these companies feel confident sending there children too.
Franklin County children deserve every opportunity possible to go out in the
world and succeed. If you feel you are paying too much in taxes (and who
isn't) let our County Commissioners know and lets cut the money from
something else, but not our children's future.
