'Disgusted': Teacher Blasts Berger

The following letter to the editor appeared in the Oct. 24 Warren Record and Oct. 25 Wake Weekly:


Dear Editor:

As a classroom teacher of 32 years, I am disgusted that Democratic state Sen. Doug Berger wants convicted felons to be allowed to teach in our schools. Exactly why does Doug Berger want criminals in our children's classrooms?
 
Berger, a typical liberal Democrat, says criminals should be given another chance. I'm sorry, but we should never, ever allow criminals to teach our children in our schools.
 
Sen. Berger, you need to look into our children's eyes and explain to them how they are safe with a criminal holding forth in their classrooms. I am embarrassed that you represent us with such left wing views.
