RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF WIDENING U.S. HIGHWAY 401
Whereas Franklin County's primary route to the triangle is a two lane road
known as
U.S. Highway 401 from Louisburg to Wake County;
AND WHEREAS, hundreds if not thousands of Franklin County
residents use said highway to travel from Franklin County to Wake
County for educational, employment, medical and many other
purposes on a daily basis;
AND WHEREAS, U.S. Highway 401 between Franklin County and Wake
County is congested because of the primary transportation role of said highway
therefore constituting a danger and unnecessary inconvenience to the traveling
public;
AND WHEREAS, the Franklin County Democratic Party has made broken
promise after broken promise year after year to have Highway 401
between Louisburg and Wake County widened both that as is often
true with the Democratic Party those promises remain broken and
unfulfilled;
AND WHEREAS, the Franklin County Republican Party believes that
it is in the best interest of the people of Franklin County for
U.S. Highway 401 to be widened for the reasons stated herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Franklin County
Republican Party encourages the widening of U.S. Highway 401
between Louisburg and Wake County.
