Letter writer critical of Ann Marie
DellaMorte is exposed as Dunston's step-daughter by Franklin Times' Asher

Sidney E. Dunston
Aug. 5,
According to Asher:
Dunston ‘ordeal’
with a new twist
GOOD MORNING: To
begin this morning, let’s set the record straight. I’m informed that the Jaye
Pleasant I referred to in this column Wednesday is a she, and furthermore, I’m
further informed that she (Jaye Pleasant) is the step-daughter of County
Commission Chairman Sidney Dunston, an ordained minister, and that the “personal
ordeal” she referred to was a 911 call made by her mother.
That puts a whole new light on Ms. Pleasant’s complaint about Ann Marie
DellaMorte’s reference to the good reverend’s personal ordeal, doesn’t it?
Furthermore, it was that 911 call that took this matter out of the personal
arena – not Ms. DellaMorte’s letter. The lesson to be learned in this matter is
really quite simple, “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones”
(no pun intended).
July 29:
Dunston’s
‘personal ordeal’
Dear Editor:
I just felt the need to respond to the comments made by Ann Marie DellaMorte.
Ms. DellaMorte, although your comments about Commissioner Dunston are
understandable, what gives you the right to make a personal comment about his
personal ordeals?
That comment was as nasty as him voting against you even when he didn’t have to.
Haven’t you heard, Ms. DellaMorte, two wrongs do not make a right.
Grow up!

Dunston opposition inappropriate
Dear Editor:
During the July 17 commissioners meeting I was met with much hostility and
opposition by Commission Chairman the Rev. Sidney Dunston.
The Planning Board approved our rezoning as did six of the commissioners.
However, Rev. Dunston made it a point to vote nay (for the record) when in fact
he did not need to vote at all. According to “Roberts Rules of Order,” the chair
does not need to vote unless it is by ballot or to break a tie, and in that case
the chair must vote affirming the motion.
I don’t understand why I was attacked by Rev. Dunston.
I suppose his recent personal ordeals must be interfering with his
responsibility to act in the betterment for our county.
