FLOOD AT LAKE ROYALE
Heavy rains from tropical storm Alberto caused the water to rise at the Lake Royale dam. Pictured above, water gushes over the road, which had to be closed. The approximate depth was about four to six feet deep at 5:45 p.m. June 14, 2006. The spillway, in the upper middle left, accommodated the water but the dam itself was in no danger of breaking.
